Truth in Millage Residential Or Commercial Property Records Cards (TRIM PRCs) for Real Estate Value Adjustment Appeal Available Online
Attention Petitioners/Owners of Real Estate Residential Or Commercial Property: If you ask for a Residential or commercial property Record Card on your Petition to the Value Adjustment Board (DR 486), the PRCs are now supplied by the Residential or commercial property Appraiser's Office online through the Residential or commercial property Search. They are no longer mailed by the VAB (per FL Statute 194.032( 2 )( a)). Starting Friday, August 16th, 2024, to access your Real Estate PRC, bring up your residential or commercial property record via the Residential or commercial property Search, then scroll down and click 2024 TRIM Residential Or Commercial Property Record Card (just below the 2023 Notice of Proposed Residential or commercial property Taxes section). If you can not access or print the PRC, you may call the Residential or commercial property Appraiser's Office at 904-255-5900
Filing for a Homestead Exemption
File Online for a 2025 Homestead Exemption Those who own and moved into a brand-new home in Duval County after January 1, 2024, may now file for a 2025 homestead exemption using the homestead exemption online application.
To be eligible for a homestead exemption, the residential or commercial property must be your long-term home or the long-term home of an individual who is legally or naturally based on you on January 1 of the tax roll year for which you are using. The online application will walk you through the filing process and can be sent over the web.
You may also file by finishing the manual Homestead Exemption application. You might send the manual application with other required documents to the Customer Service/Exemptions Division at 231 E. Forsyth Street, Suite 260, Jacksonville, Florida 32202, fax it to (904) 255-7963, or e-mail it to pacustserv@coj.net.
The due date to submit timely for the 2025 Tax Roll is March 1, 2025. Late filing is permitted through early September. (The due date for late filing is set by Florida law and falls on the 25th day following the mailing of the Notices of Proposed Residential or commercial property Taxes which takes place in mid-August.)
If you developed a new homestead and had a previous homestead exemption on another home in Florida, you might be eligible for Portability - the transfer of some or all of your previous homestead's "Save Our Homes" benefit (the distinction in between your market and assessed worths due to the annual cap on increases).
